Application as Postdoctoral Fellow
If you have a postdoc position at the University of Cologne and fit the CDS, you can apply to become a CDS Postdoctoral Fellower.
If you have a permanent position or are, e.g., a junior group leader, you are not considered a postdoc anymore. In that case, you may be suited as a CDS Core Scientist or Associated Scientist. The Core Scientist position is reserved for UoC members with a permanent position.
Your application must contain the following documents:
- a short CV,
- a meaningful letter of motivation (Why would you like to join the CDS? Which scientific domain(s) of the CDS are you associated with?),
- a list of no more than 10 of your most relevant publications.
Please send the required documents to the managing coordinator of the CDS.
The application will be reviewed by the board of directors (at their next meeting, but not earlier than a week after your application). You may be invited to give a short presentation about your career and research. If the board reaches a positive decision about your application, a public CDS profile entry will be created for you. We require the following material:
- a short description of your research (max. 1,500 characters),
- a graphic that is relevant to your research, including a short description,
- a list of your most relevant publications (10 at most),
- a profile picture (portrait).
Additionally, we will list your ORCID iD unless you prefer not to.
A postdoc membership needs to be renewed after two years. It automatically ends if you leave the University of Cologne.
