Andreas Vogelsang and his group work on data-driven methods that make the lives of software and systems engineers easier. This includes the automation of tasks in requirements engineering, feature dependency analysis in multifunctional systems, feature usage analysis based on interaction data, or automatic derivation of test cases. In his research, he uses tools and techniques from the areas of natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (especially CNNs, Transformer language models, Bayesian networks), and statistics. More recently, Andreas Vogelsang has also worked on software engineering practices for data-driven systems, especially ML-enabled systems.

Andreas Vogelsang holds the chair for Software and Systems Engineering. He received his PhD from TU Munich in 2015 and was Junior Professor for Automotive Software Engineering at TU Berlin from mid-2016 to mid-2020 as well as Head of the Software Engineering Department at the Daimler Center for Automotive IT Innovations. In 2018, he was named a Junior-Fellow of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI), and in 2019, he was named "Young Scientist of the Year" by academics and the DHV.
