The Language Archive Cologne (LAC) is a CTS-certified repository founded to bundle the documentation of endangered languages and preserve the continuous diminishing linguistic variety. It hosts audiovisual language documentation of naturally spoken language, capturing situated embodied communication that differs substantially from scripted media data typically used for AI training. The multimodal nature extends beyond audiovisual recordings—most materials are transcribed and time-aligned with the audiovisual files using ELAN software.
